Sigma blade mixers are also used for high-intensity mixing and compounding of solids including rubber, carbon, powder metals and ceramics.

Most sigma blade mixers are jacketed for heating in order to melt various rubbers or resins or to lower the viscosity of the product to allow it to be free flowing for discharge. The jacket can also be used to remove excess heat that can be generated by the high intensity mixing action.

Ribbon Blenders
