Jar Rolling Mills
ABBE Jar Rolling Mills are designed to support and rotate our steel and ceramic jars individually or several at a time. The smallest bench top model, can handle 1 or 2 jars. The largest jar roller can have as many as four levels or tiers and from two to five rolls per tier.
A "League of their Own" - These are not hobby shop tumblers or light weight rollers found in laboratory supply catalogs. ABBE Jar Rolling Mills are heavy duty, high load, and precision machines designed to operate reliably 24/7. Every roll is made of cast polyurethane that is machined for concentricity and smooth jar spinning. Each roll is supported by industrial pillow block roller bearing and the frames are heavy steel coated with industrial epoxy or powder coating.
Not just for milling - Rolling Mills are also used for a range of applications other than spinning milling jars. Many round containers can be spun on an Abbe Jar Rolling Mill for applications as diverse as:
• Biological Digestion
• Keep Solids in Suspension for Long Periods
• Slow Reactions
• Tumble Cleaning
Roller Lengths: 24” to 60”
Number of Tiers: 1, 2, 3, 4
Number of Rollers per Tier: 2, 3, 4, 5
• Sound Enclosures
• XP Electrics
• Single or Multiple Variable Speed Drives.
Jar Rolling Mills are electrically driven roller mechanisms for spinning or rotating milling jars, which are used for wet or dry size reduction, or dispersing. The milling jar is half filled with grinding media or balls from ¼” to 1” and as the mill rotates the solids are trapped between the ball and are milled down to as little as 1 micron by the cascading and tumbling action of the ball charge.
Milling jars available in ceramic, carbon steel, stainless steel, rubber lined or polyurethane lined. The milling jars are available in sizes from 0.1 usg to 5 usg. The jar rolling mill can be designed to accommodate anywhere from 1 to more than a dozen jars. The jar rolling mills come in lengths from 24” to 60” and up to three tiers tall.
As many as five sets of roller can be integrated into each tier. The drives are always variable speed to accommodate different size jars and different grinding condition. Explosion proof motors and control, sound enclosures and all stainless steel construction are available to meet any laboratory or production installation.
