Vacuum Dryers and Systems
Suited for a variety of drying processes; from low temperature products such as pharmaceuticals, through medium temperature processes, up to high temperature applications such as crystallization of polymers. Other applications include ceramics, antibiotics, agrochemicals, catalysts, chemicals, foodstuffs, resins, powdered metals, including tungsten carbide.

 
Milling Equipment - Production and Laboratory Ball Mills
Our ball and pebble mills are available in a wide range of sizes, constructed of various materials for wet or dry milling, either lined or unlined and with cooling jackets if required. Also offered are one piece ceramic jar mills, a variety of jar rolling mills, milling jars and grinding media.
   
Tumble Blenders
The work-horse Rota-Cone Blender and the Rota-Vee style blenders are ideal for flowing powders and low shear blending processes. The clean design, ease of operation and rugged construction are valued by a diverse range of industries.
   
Abbe Fluid Zone (Forberg Style) Mixers & Dryers
The fastest, most efficient mixing achievable today is realized in the Paul O Abbe “Fluid Zone (Forberg Style)” line. These new mixers, with their distinctive counter-rotating paddle action, represent an entirely new generation in mixer technology. They provide complete homogeneity – a mix variance that is less than 1% - in seconds rather than minutes. And they also prevent re-segregation if mixing cycles are continued beyond completion, even where the particles are of widely differing size and density.
   
Ribbon Blenders/Mixers
The Paul O. Abbe Ribbon Blenders and our companion lines of paddle and plow mixers are best suited for processing blends requiring some shear to effect a thorough mixture. Available in food-grade or extra heavy-duty for dense materials. Can be jacketed and designed for vacuum. Offered with single shaft or, for special requirements, available with double shaft.
   
Double Arm Sigma Blade Mixers
For intensive mixing of pastes, slurries or difficult, viscous products with high solids content, we offer a wide range of sigma blade mixers. Available with a variety of drive arrangements and discharge designs. Also available with jackets and vacuum capability.

The most "efficient" fill level for a ball mill is to load material equal to 25% of the total volume of the mill. A 40% batch will take twice as long to mill as does the 25% batch. But, depending on your cycle time and unit operations, it may actually be more economical to operate with the "wrong" batch size.

Blending equipment, if operated for too long, can actually "de-mix" the materials that you had blended.

When sizing and specifying the correct vacuum and solvent recovery systems for your vacuum drying equipment, components must be sized for the peak vapor load, not for the average or total moisture to be removed.
